The American Academy of Religion has published its call for conference papers. AAR members can submit up to two proposals or papers. We especially encourage you to support the sessions which are set aside for African descended scholars and scholars of color. These include the: African Diaspora Religions Unit, African Religions Unit, Black Theology Unit, Womanist Approaches to Religion and Society Unit, Women of Color Scholarship Teaching and Activism Unit. The AAR deadline is March 1, 2023, 5 pm EST.
The Society of Biblical Literature has a wealth of conference sessions. Members may submit up to two proposals or papers for the conference (total). You may submit to those which you choose.
We especially encourage you to support the sessions set aside for African descended scholars and scholars of color. These include the: African Biblical Hermeneutics, African American Biblical Hermeneutics, Slavery Resistance and Freedom, and the Womanist Interpretation groups. The SBL call for papers has a deadline of March 14, 2023.
The AAR/SBL conference will be in San Antonio, Texas, November 18-21, 2023.
