We’re pleased to announce our work is being followed by people in 53 countries! Please continue to spread the word – https://misogynoir2mishpat.com/

The Misogynoir to Mishpat (M2M) Research Network has been busy providing resources and support to amplify the voices of African descended women. As such, please note the upcoming essay, “Unlearning My Education” by CL Nash published on Oct 22nd. In addition, please note Beyond the Womanist Classroom (hosted by the fabulous Mitzi Smith) where we will post Episode 5 on October 27th.

We are also sharing resources we hope are helpful such as the “Anti-Racism Library” published Oct 21st. We think most of you will locate written materials, videos and groups which will help us all move closer to a more equitable world. As part of our Mentoring Cafe, please watch the “Mentorship v. Sponsorship” video on Oct 26th. This video is important as it provides specific strategies that we will engage regarding mentorship for African descended women in Religious Academia. These strategies will also be more broadly important for our partnership with the Sociology of Religion (SocRel) Study Group which is part of the British Sociological Association.

We are planning our first Research Day for this academic year on Nov 15th, 4-5:30 pm British Standard Time. During our time together, we will introduce our new theme, Power on the Margins: Open the Gates. This academic year (Oct 2022-Sept 2023) we will engage with various aspects of both “power on the margins” and mentorship. Please mark your calendars with the agenda coming soon. Finally, I am delighted to share our first profile for the academic year will be published on Oct 24th. We have a pioneering womanist scholar, known and admired around the world, who will share her insights. You do not want to miss it!
